When there are concerns that someone who may be vulnerable (due to age, disability, illness, dependence, or disadvantage) might be experiencing harm, abuse, neglect, or exploitation, a formal investigation helps ensure their safety and protect the organisation’s duty of care.

Whilst most investigations are conducted in sectors such as health care, aged care, disability service, early childhood centres, and schools, Ashdale can provide services for all aspects of vulnerable persons protections.

A vulnerable persons/reportable conduct investigations aims to:

  • Protect the individual from immediate or ongoing harm
  • Identify the nature and source of the alleged abuse, neglect, or misconduct
  • Determine whether duty of care or legal obligations have been breached
  • Recommend protective or remedial actions, or referrals to law enforcement or regulatory bodies (if required).
